What Can I Expect When Arriving Into Sydney

Sydney is a major tourist destination with a population of more than four million people. Located on picturesque Sydney Harbour, the capital of New South Wales is home to two of the most famous Australian icons, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. After scheduling your flight to Sydney, Australia you will be well on your way to enjoying its sunny beaches, bustling shopping districts, brilliant landscapes, diverse dining options, pulsing nightlife, and cosmopolitan culture.

All non-Australian citizens will need to have valid visas before entering the country. New Zealand citizens who hold New Zealand passports will be issued their Australian passports upon arrival, while all other foreign nationals will need to obtain a visa before entering the country. These may be obtained at any Australian visa office and from some travel agents and airlines.

Australian currency is based on the Australian dollar, which is available in denominations ranging from $0.05 cents to $100. Most businesses in Australia accept traveller’s cheques, debit cards, and major credit cards, allowing you to easily access your money anywhere you happen to be.

One of the biggest concerns many have is how to time their holiday. For some regions or countries, visiting at the wrong time of the year could ruin the trip. Although some may say there is simply no wrong time to visit Sydney, the fact is that depending on what you want to see and do, some times may be better than others. Summers, which run from December to February, are often warm, fair, and sunny. They are a great time to visit the beach or go sightseeing outdoors. Winters are mild and ideal for such activities as watching whales and going on tours of local wineries.

Once you arrive in the city, you will discover that Sydney has a thriving public transportation system travelling throughout the city’s central business district and beyond. If you prefer instead to rent a car, you must be over the age of 21. Vehicles operate on the left side of the road, and speed limits and driving laws are strictly enforced. Seat belts are mandatory.

If you are ready to see it all in the great southern land of Oz, here’s what you need to know before you go.

The cheapest tickets for flying across Australia or from city to city are generally found during the off-season. However, not everyone wants to go during the off-season. The high season for travelling Australia is winter, which is from June through August. You will need to book well in advance to get great prices, as early as April. You may still be able to get great deals later in the high season if you look for travel agents and booking sites such as Totally Australia offering accommodations along with airfare.

One thing to avoid when shopping for lower priced airfare is unreliable service. Budget flights can be a great way to fly if you shop carefully and check the reputation of the airline. Unfortunately, some budget airlines may skimp on service, be habitually late, or tend to lose baggage.

There’s so much to see and do in Australia that you surely do not want to miss a second of your holiday due to a late arrival or missing belongings. Missing your tour group or having to buy a new wardrobe will surely ruin your holiday more dramatically than spending a bit more on higher priced airfare.

Are You Going to Stay My Place

When visiting a city such as Sydney, you hope that you will be staying in the best quality accommodation that you can find but sometimes your budget will not permit it and you have to look at other options such as shared accommodation or hostels or even staying with friends.

When you’re looking through rental apartments, Downtown Sydney is the most popular destination with the lone travellers and many look for short term furnished apartments here due. Renting a fully furnished apartment here is perfect if you want to be right in the middle of Sydney’s business but they probably won’t be spacious and will have only one or two bedrooms at most but that’s perfect for those who are travelling alone or with one friend. If you have a large group, you’ll need to consider looking out in Sydney’s sprawling suburbs.

Sydney’s waterfront space has become such a premium piece of real estate and is highly sought after by businesses and the real estate moguls that apartment space is limited and as such the waterfront properties can only support one to two bedroom apartments. This is great for a single traveller or a couple but not so great for families who are looking for that extra space for the kids. The cost of these apartments can sometimes be very expensive but you can find a great deal if you aren’t too picky about what you want in your apartment, for instance if you don’t want all the bells and whistles and just want basic amenities like a shower, a toilet, an oven and a couch then you’ll probably find a great deal such as what you can find at http://www.staymyplace.com.au/.

7 Reasons to Book Furnished Accommodation in Sydney

There are lots of living accommodations available for a traveller to choose from when visiting Sydney, Australia. Whether travelling for business, an extended holiday, or educational opportunities, fully furnished apartments are becoming increasingly popular. The following information details the benefits of choosing these types of accommodations and one of the market leaders for furnished apartments in Sydney is Furnished Properties Pty Ltd.

1. More Space is Available
Many travellers, especially when on extended trips, simply need more room to be comfortable. Travellers who have planned an extended stay will likely have brought more items along for the trip than those who are there for a shorter amount of time. Hotel rooms can be notoriously small and cramped, with most only offering a bedroom area and a bathroom. Even many suites only provide a small sitting area and a kitchenette in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. Furnished accommodations in Sydney can offer several areas such as living rooms, dining rooms, and separate bedrooms. When able to enjoy extra rooms for extensive stays, guests can be made to feel right at home. Having that “at home” feeling can help travellers relax and unwind, making their stay more productive.

2. Cooking Facilities and Kitchen Space
While there are many great restaurants in Sydney, it’s sometimes preferable to stay in and enjoy a home-cooked meal. Being able to relax and wind down after a long day is important to making your stay as successful as possible. Having a kitchen and a place to store items gives visitors a chance to shop where the locals do and more easily become part of day to day life in Sydney. Being self-sufficient and blending into the culture are two great reasons having cooking facilities is a good choice. Even if a traveller isn’t planning on doing a lot of cooking, simply having kitchen space with appliances can make life a lot easier. Having a refrigerator to store drinks and a microwave to heat up leftovers is a great convenience.

3. The Benefit of Added Amenities
Added extras like laundry services and off-street parking can make the stay even more enjoyable. Sometimes a washer and dryer may even come with furnished accommodations. Pools, sauna, and an onsite gym are often part of the accommodations as well. Many furnished accommodations not only have general furnishings, but provide pots and pans for cooking. Some options might even include patio gardens and terraces.
